Let’s talk scissors.
I am fiercely protective of my fabric scissors. On more than one occasion I have had to rescue them from my husband using them on something other than fabric. Using fabric scissors on anything other than fabric dulls the blades. A good pair of fabric scissors are not cheap!

My Fiskars are my shears of choice. These scissors cut through fabric like butter. I like them because they cut all the way to the tip and have a curved handle for comfortable and straight cutting. They can also cut through multiple layers of fabric with ease.
At Christmas, my wonderful mother-in-law got me a pair of these Gingher thread clippers. These things are awesome. They are ergonomic and cut the entire length of the blades. They also come with a handy cover so when I’m klutzy (which is pretty much all the time) I avoid stabbing myself.
Whatever scissors you use, my advice is this: guard them well from children, spouses and anyone allowed near your quilting.
Happy Quilting!
